Tree Fallen on House

Don’t Let This Happen to You!

This incident was one of the inspirations behind the creation of Elevate Tree Services in order to prevent this from happening to anyone else.

Who We Are

Jordan – Project Manager and Lead Climber

Jordan was an infantry captain in the Canadian Army and certified as a Patrol Pathfinder (insertion and extraction expert). After leaving the Canadian Armed Forces and starting a family in Costa Rica, he decided to direct his military skills towards climbing arborism to facilitate the safe removal of trees from clients’ properties. His commitment to the client’s needs allows Elevate Tree Services to stand out as a robust tree services company.

Anthony – Lead Groundman

Originally from Alajuela, Anthony moved to the Cobano area with his family in 2017. He has worked in a variety of property maintenance roles, but joined Elevate Tree Services to specialize in ground team management and the safe lowering of tree parts from the canopy to the ground. His local knowledge and his cautious approach to tree rigging has made him a valuable asset to the Elevate Tree Services Team.

Valeria – Customer Relations and Social Media Manager

Born in Heredia, Valeria is a multi-talented mother of three whose administrative skills and aptitude for social media make her an integral part of the Elevate team. She is constantly trying to improve our website and communications while capturing beautiful photos of our work.

What We Do

Rigging a dangerous limb

Dangerous Limb Removal

Often there is a part of a tree that is a potential hazard to the people or property below it. We utilize our tree climbing and rigging equipment to lower the limb to the ground in a safe and controlled manner. This can be done by redirecting the fall trajectory of the limb towards a safe direction, or by cutting and removing small pieces, one at a time, to our groundsmen below.

Climbing a tree

Full Tree Removal

Although a last resort, there are many situations when it is necessary to completely remove a tree. If it is dead or decaying or poses too big a risk to its environment – we can remove trees from canopy to stump. Each removal process will be customized to the needs of the client and situation. Usually the branches will be removed and the trunk will be cut down in pieces to avoid any harm to property.

Cutting a tree

Tree Reduction or Pruning

Sometimes a tree will naturally overgrow its environment. There are healthy ways to prune a tree that will aid in growth or direct growth in a certain direction. This can make the tree more visually appealing to the owner and dramatically improve the appearance of an entire property.

Palm Pruning

Palm Pruning

Palm trees can be pruned once a year. This process involves removing dead fronds and seed pods, allowing more sunlight and air into the canopy, while also redirecting the tree’s energy to new growth. We can climb to the top of palm trees without the use of spurs or spikes, which damage the tree, leaving it vulnerable to disease and decay.

Permission Packages

Permission Request Packages

In Costa Rica it is necessary to request permission from SINAC before heavy cutting or removal of a tree. These regulations protect Costa Rica’s forests and tree species. A permission request package is submitted to SINAC that should be answered within ten days. We are well versed in this procedure and can help create the permission request, streamlining the process.

Where We Are

Our home base is in Delicias de Cóbano. We primarily focus our attention on the Nicoya Peninsula (red square outline), but we are open to discuss jobs anywhere in the country. We will never say no to helping a client with a dangerous tree situation if it is possible for us to do so.
